Kenneth Lee Langer, Jr, age 83, of House Springs, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2026. He was born February 13, 1943, in Saint Louis, Missouri to Frieda Langer-Dahlgren (nee Hertlein) and Kenneth Langer, Sr.
Beloved father of Shelli (David) Martak, William R. Langer, and Rebecca (Edward) Stallons; dear grandfather of Ella Martak, Alexa Martak, Dakota Woods, Samantha Eidson, Kennadie Stallons, and Hunter Stallons; great-grandfather of Penelope Crossen. He was the stepbrother of the late Richard (Joann) Belz; half-brother of Derrill Langer and David Langer; brother-in-law of Cheryl Langer; companion of Carol McDowell; cousin and friend to many.
Ken was the kindest, most gentle, and grounded man you could ever know. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a quiet way of making everyone feel loved and at ease. He found his greatest joy in the simple things—being outdoors, working in the yard, cutting grass, chopping wood, and building the perfect fire.
A proud alumnus of Northwest High School, he held a special place in his heart for his fellow classmates and the many reunions they shared over the years. A former standout Lions basketball player, he loved watching the game and sharing his passion with us. Ken served his country in the United States Army, where he also played basketball for his unit.
Over the past year, Ken faced a difficult battle with pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer with quiet strength and resilience, never losing the warmth and kindness that defined him.
More than anything, Ken loved his family. He cherished every visit, every conversation, and every laugh shared with his children, grandchildren, and loved ones. He also held a special place in his heart for Carol and treasured the time they spent together. We feel especially blessed to have recently shared Christmas and his birthday - memories we will forever hold close to our hearts.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and kindness that will never be forgotten. Our hearts are heavy, and he will be deeply missed every single day.
