Kennith G. Johnson, 76, of Newcastle, died Sunday, November 19, 2017, at his home. The son of Roy Paris Johnson and Ina Elizabeth (Cummings) Johnson, he was born June 8, 1941 in Konawa, Oklahoma.
Kennith married Carrie Jane Harrison on November 6, 1960, in Chickasha. He worked as a truck driver for a lumber yard for many years and then owned and operated an auto salvage until his retirement. He was a Baptist in faith. In his spare time, Kennith restored and collected antique cars. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Ina Mae Johnson and Carolyn Hester; and three brothers, Glen Johnson, Roy Johnson, and Tony Johnson.
Kennith is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carrie Johnson of Newcastle; two sons, Kenny Johnson and wife, Amber, of Newcastle, and Jerry Johnson and wife, Leslie, of Tuttle; seven grandchildren, Chet Johnson and wife, Amber, of Tuttle, Zack Johnson and wife, Yanet, of Oklahoma City, Ashley Johnson of Newcastle, Eric Johnson and fiancée, Jessica Brown, of Newcastle, Cody Johnson of Norman, Kali Johnson of Norman, and Dillon Johnson and fiancée, Jacie Boyd, of Cole; eleven great grandchildren, Rowdy, Whitlee, Yesi, Jacob, Kenley, Kaeden, Cierra, Colton, Trip, Lylah, and Langston; one sister, Viola Rogers and husband, Walt, of Chickasha; a sister-in-law, Oneita Johnson of Blanchard; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Newcastle. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens in Oklahoma City.
