Kevin McDaniel Obituary

Kevin McDaniel, formerly of Magnolia, has passed away Saturday morning. Kevin was born on August 12, 1963 to Gayhyardt Ted McDaniel and Mayrene Jean Dossman in Tomball, Texas.
Kevin spent much of his childhood in Galena Park before his parents moved back to Tomball. He was a graduate of Tomball High School class of 1981. He always talked about the fun he had with his dad and grandpa going fishing when he was a boy. In his youth he loved his red Chevy truck and would drive it with pride.

After graduating from Tomball in 1981 he married his high school sweetheart Loucinda Harget in 1983. They lived in Tomball and went on to have two children Nathan and Colby.

Kevin was a great husband, father, son, brother, grandpa and friend to many. He was known as “Mac” to many even to his three grand babies.  Kevin’s favorite hobbies were fishing with his dad and grandpa and tinkering with his CB and Ham radios. He also enjoyed playing the guitar and cooking for his family.

Kevin spent much of his working career at Ace Hardware and then went to work at an industrial company until he was in a major accident driving a truck that left him disabled.
In 2017 Kevin found out he had prostate cancer and received treatment, but not until recently in February 2023 did he discover that the prostate cancer had returned and that it had already become bone cancer. Kevin passed away peacefully in his home on May 13, 2023 with his immediate family by his side.

Kevin is survived by his loving wife, Cindy McDaniel; son, Nathan McDaniel, son, Colby (Kourtney) McDaniel; granddaughter, Abby McDaniel, grandson, Rowan McDaniel, granddaughter, Kora McDaniel; father, Ted McDaniel; sister, Kendra (Byron) Hallmark, brother, Karmen (Sandra) McDaniel; many nieces and nephews, a large extended family and numerous friends.

Including his grandparents Kevin was preceded in death by his mother, Mayrene McDaniel.

The family will receive visitors Wednesday, May 17th, 2023, from 1:00 – 2:00 pm at Klein Funeral Home, 1400 West Main Street Tomball, Texas 77375.  Funeral Services will be held immediately following the visitation beginning at 2:00 pm, with REV. Every breath is a precious gift and tomorrow is not promised. I know this but still, I don't always embrace the day, the moments, with Thankfulness. Cindy, Nathan, and Colby, I love you and am so sorry for your loss and so sorry I didn't carve out time in my days for more visiting, games, and laughter. Kevin was a good man, a good friend and neighbor, and he loved God our Savior. I pray that yall feel God's presence and His peace that passes all understanding as you go through the days. Remember the good, love at all times and seek God with all of your heart. Sending love and prayers. Kimberly Robinson

So saddened to learn of Kevin's passing. I worked with Kevin at Klein Funeral Home Tomball when Kevin was still in High School. So pleased to see he became a fine man. I wish I could attend his memorial service but will be praying for his family. May God's comfort and peace be close to you all.
