Monroe - Kim Marie Mills
Age 65. Date of Birth 9/10/59
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kim Mills on March 1, 2025, at Atrium Health Union West. She was a loving daughter, devoted friend, and a kind soul who touched the lives of many. Kim had a deep love for her mother, cherishing every moment they spent together. She found peace and joy in her yard, where she nurtured beautiful flowers and plants with the same care and dedication she showed in all aspects of her life. Her greatest companions, however, were her beloved cats, whom she considered her babies. Their presence brought her endless comfort and happiness. She will be remembered for her warm heart, her green thumb, and the unconditional love she shared with both people and animals. Kim loved the Lord and wanted others to know the goodness he can provide even when times are uncertain.
Kim attended Forest Hills High School and graduated from UNC. She worked as an Airline Stewardess for US Air and later American Airlines. She loved her job and often talked of the joy she experienced with her airline partners. She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Joe Blair Mills, her father and her mother, Clara Hill Mills.
We would like to extend special thanks to the doctors and nurses of Atrium Health West and to friends who were instrumental in helping her during the past few years, either by messages, calls or supporting her in other ways along this journey. Also, special thanks to Chaplin Zack Smith who was instrumental in the last few days of her life.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church of the donor’s choice or to an animal rescue group.
Though she is no longer with us, her spirit will live on in the memories of those who knew and loved her.
As per Ms. Mills’ request, services will be private.

I enjoyed flying with Kim over the past years out of the Charlotte base. We were close in senority and worked many flights together. We shared conversations about our Mother's and cat babies. Godspeed.

My deepest condolences.

So sad to hear that Kim has passed. We were first cousins. Her father and my father were brothers. May she rest in peace.

Kim was a beautiful, strong, and determined Lady. She dearly loved her Mother, her Kitties and was a naturally gifted landscape artist. She was a very hard worker with the most organized aft galley, which allowed more time for conversation and laughter! She was loved by many...

I’m saddened to see Kim’s obituary. I went to school with Kim for 12-years and our families took summer vacations together to the coast, Garden City. I have delightful memories of Kim and her Mom and hate we lost touch after school. My condolences to the family, Marie
