L.G. “Buddy” Brooks, 65, of Columbus, Mississippi, transitioned on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at Regency Hospital in Meridian, Mississippi, at 1:46AM.
L.G. “Buddy” Brooks was born February 4, 1952 in Brooksville, Mississippi to Lucille Brooks. He confessed hope in Christ as a young boy and joined the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church of Brooksville, Mississippi where he resided until his transition. L G “Buddy” Brooks spent the majority of his life as a truck driver. He was a “Mr. Fix-it” mechanic and a very dependable and caring man to his family and others.
L.G. “Buddy” Brooks is survived by his four children: Doris (David) Franklin of Brooksville, Mississippi; Termeeka and Leterra Brooks of Columbus, Mississippi; and his only son, L. G. Lerenzo (Sherita) Brooks of Caledonia, Mississippi. He leaves to cherish Ms Martha Brooks, his closest friend and the mother of his children; ten grandchildren; and special relatives: Lue Della Dotson, Catherine Brown and Lillie Buress; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
L.G. “Buddy” Brooks was preceded in death by his mother; Lucille Brooks; a close relative, Lillie B. Triplett; and three daughters, Barbara, Shirley and Baby Brooks. L. G. “Buddy” Brooks will always be remembered by his children as “The World’s Greatest Dad” and “The Strongest Man in the World”.
