LaDawn Farr Obituary

Our precious momma returned to our Heavenly Father into our dad's waiting arms on July 17, 2017. She was born October 25, 1928, in Provo, Utah to Victor Melville Fitzgerald and Ruth Scott.
She had a love of horses from her dad and a love of flowers and music from her mom. She married her high school sweetheart Melvin Kimball Farr in the Salt Lake Temple February 6, 1946. They were once voted sweethearts of the ball in high school.
They had five children who she loved with all her heart. She also took care of her baby brother Eugene for most of his life and loved him like her own. She spent her life in service to the LDS church in various positions, but she loved serving with the primary children the most. She loved the Savior with all her heart and it reflected in the way she lived her life.
LaDawn is survived by her children Deborah (Brent) Beckstrom, Kevin Kimball (Tamara) Farr, Michael Kelly (Colette) Farr, Timothy Darin (Ann) Farr, Ruthann (Brent) Markus and is survived by 22 grandchildren, and 33 great grandchildren, sisters Helen Ruth Seeley, Edna Mae McMahon, brother Scott (Geneal) Fitzgerald. She was preceded in death by granddaughter Cassie Ann Farr, and grandson Jared Kimball Beckstrom, two brothers Victor Ferris and Eugene Ralph Fitzgerald.
Special thank you to Dana, Lisa, and Cory from Hospice and the loving staff of the Beehive Homes of Lehi who took such good care of mom.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 11 A.M. at the Glen Moor 6th Ward, 4200 W. Skye Dr. South Jordan, UT. A viewing will be held Friday, July 21, 2017 from 6-8 P.M. at Broomhead Funeral Home, 12600 S. 2200 W. Riverton, UT and one hour prior to services at the church.

Thank you for being such good neighbors and friends for so many years in South Jordan. I think I talked to LaDawn more after she moved to Glenmore. I visited several times with her at Reem's while shopping and also we talked on the phone. I'm sorry my purple plate couldn't stop her shingles pain, but she gave it a try. She is a special lady with such a good heart. She always had love and concern for all her family members.
I (Melanie)got to know LaDawn the summer she asked me to help break her welsh pony Pepper. Before then, i just thought she was a nice neighbor lady, but that summer I was fortunate to get to know her and become friends as we worked with the pony, eventually riding or driving in a pony cart -- up and down 114th South. Such changes since then. LaDawn was always kind and gentle. She always had a smile and friendly words. I treasure my memories of her.

Dear Farr family,

Due to a recent illness my wife and I were not able to attend the funeral for your mother. I would like to express my love and sympathy for this sweet lady. There is a special reward for her for the way she cared for Eugene. Mel and Ladawn were great examples to us all. we love them dearly. May God bless you as you carry on their legacy.

One of the kindest people to ever live on earth! I'm grateful for LaDawn's way of making me feel more like family than just friends (and she was a lifelong friend of our family.) She is a beautiful person who made an impact on me.

Dear Debbie, Kevin, Kelly, Tim and Ruth Ann,
I love your mom and dad. They were always so sweet and kind, and you are all like your parents. I really enjoyed learning more about your mom at the service yesterday. It was a really nice service. Debbie, I enjoyed the life history entries you read, and Kevin and Kelly, I enjoyed the memories and experiences you shared. The music was really nice, too. I have never heard the song "How Beautiful" before.
May the Lord bless and comfort you all.

Love,
Peggy

How I love your mother! She has been such a big part of my life as I've lived here in Glenmoor! She is such a great example of how I should live. When she used to be in our book group, the standard was "Sister Farr approved". We would never read anything that would be in any way offensive to her. Every year she would call me up and sing to me on my birthday. The last year before she moved out of her home I wasn't home when she called so she left me a message and sang to me. I still have that message because I love her so much! And she loved her family! Every time we went over to her home we had to see all of the pictures and hear what was going on in her children's lives. And we loved the stories she told of Gene and the memories of her life with Mel. She also told great stories of when she was growing up. She will be sorely missed and forever in our hearts!

Dearest Sweet Ladawn how we will miss you in this life. You were one of the dearest people in my life and in many others I am sure. I am so happy for you today because I know you are with your dear Mel and Gene too. I will always remember our times together with a smile. I loved that smile and your sweet voice, and the way you just said things, and the things about out lives that were so similar. Dearest children, Kevin, Debbie, Kelly and my special friend Ruthann may the Holy Spirit comfort you at the loss of your precious Mother. I love you all, you are such a dear family to me and my family. Till we all meet again....love to you all.
