Lanetta L. “Lani” Arms, age 38, of Jackson, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2026 at her home and surrounded by loved ones, following a courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer. She was born October 23, 1987 in Gallipolis, Ohio to Gregory S. Lewis and Annetta M. Rawlins Lewis. Lani was a 2006 graduate of Jackson High School and later received an Associate’s Degree in Allied Health from Daymar College. She was a medical assistant and formerly employed by Adena Health Systems and Jenkins Clinic in Wellston. Lani’s loving and caring personality was felt by everyone around her and her smile would light up a room as soon as she walked in. She enjoyed dancing, going to concerts, kayaking, and most of all, she loved watching her daughters play in all their sporting events. Lani had a strong Christian faith and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Coalton. She is survived by her husband with whom she was together for 14 years, Aaron Arms; daughters, Ettaleigh “Ellie” Arms, Addelynne “Addie” Arms, and fat baby bulldog, Luna; parents, Greg and Annetta Lewis; brother, Steven Lewis; sisters-in-law, Amy Long (Jeremy) and Felischa Shotts; brother-in-law, Jerrod Arms (Tatiana), as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends, including many children who considered her “Mom”. Lani was preceded in death by her grandparents, William F. and Loretta E. Rawlins and Daniel Eugene and Rita Savey Lewis. Calling hours will be Friday, January 23, from 2 to 7 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Saturday, January 24, at 12 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Andy Rawlins officiating. In keeping with Lani’s wishes, cremation will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions be made to a college fund for Lani's daughters at any Wesbanco location. A Celebration of Life gathering will be announced by the family at a later time. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.

Lani was the Kindest, Sweetest, Most Loving Person I have ever had the honor of calling her Friend. She was also my CoWorker at Jenkins Clinic. She treated the patients with loving care and made them feel special with her Beautiful Smile. She passed that Smile onto her girls. I Pray God wraps his Loving Arms around them and help them each day passes till they see her again in Heaven.

My deepest sympathy and condolences. I only knew her from stories that Randy shared but I know she was a very special person, wife, and mother.

If we could all strive to leave a legacy like Lani this world would be a better place. She and Aaron have raised 2 beautiful, kind, strong young ladies and I believe they will take over where their beautiful momma left off to make our world a better place. Praying for comfort for Aaron, girls, parents, brother and all those who loved Lani which are many. We will never forget you Lani, you were such a light in this world. You are free now Lani, you won sweetie!

I moved to Jackson starting my freshman year. Lani was in a few of my classes. I wish I would have grown closer to her. She was always so sweet, and smiling. She was a light, truly. Very bubbly, beautiful girl! I’m sorry to hear of her passing. Her family will be in my prayers. I can’t imagine their heartbreak.
