Larry George Mowrer
1941-2018
Larry passed away peacefully at Skagit Valley Hospital on Sept. 6th with family by his side.
He was born in 1941 in Mount Vernon, WA and graduated Mount Vernon High School in 1960. After a year in the US Army he married Jeanette Grinde in 1962. They settled in Tacoma, WA and their son Christopher was born in 1971. Larry spent his career working for Western State Hospital, mostly as a statistician. He and Jeannette moved back to Skagit Valley in 1998 after retiring. Larry was active in the WWTFRF and earned his Master Gardener's certificate. He was also an avid eBay shopper, collector of apple labels, and BBQ expert.
Larry was preceded in death by his wife Jeannette in 2006. He is survived by his son Christopher, Brother James and Sister Mary Lou.
Memorial service to be held at the Farmhouse Restaurant in Mt. Vernon at 12pm on Sun. Sept. 6th. A light buffet will be served. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
Our sincerest thanks to the amazing staff at Creekside Continuing Care. You made all the difference for Larry in his last years.

We were so very sorry to learn of Larry's passing. He was a kind and sincere friend. Arden always enjoyed the monthly lunches with Larry and the guys. We were also sorry to miss the memorial as we were out of state. Thoughts and prayers are with you and your loved ones.

I am so sorry to read about Larry's passing. I worked with him in the '90s at Western State Hospital. He was a very nice man to work with and a very kind soul. My prayers are with his family. Rest in Peace, Larry.
