Laura Opfer Obituary
Mrs. Laura Lynn Opfer age 63 of No Where Rd. Blairsville passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday September 24, 2025 following an extended illness. Mrs. Opfer was born on August 23, 1962 in Illinois, the daughter of the late Fred and Pat Thumm. Laura was a loving and caring mother, sister and grandmother and was a friend to many. Laura was of the Christian faith.
Surviving Mrs. Opfer are two sons and one daughter in law, Ryan and MacKenzi Opfer of Oakwood, GA., Kyle Opfer of Lula, GA., one sister and brother in law, Judy and Keith Rapier of IL., one brother, Fred Thumm, three grandchildren, Haziah, Haven and Asher, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to a favorite charity of your choice in Mrs. Opfer’s memory.

Ryan and Kyle, I was so sorry to hear about your Mom. Your Mom Laura is my cousin on her Mom's side of the family. We spent some of our childhood together with Debbie, Judy, Fred, and Jenny. The last time I saw her was about 20 years ago in Atlanta she came in to meet me for lunch. It was so nice to see her. I want you boys to know that I cherish that time.
