Lawrence Mahl Obituary
Lawrence Paul Mahl, 62, of Batesville, Indiana, died Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at his residence.
Larry was born in Rome, New York on July 20, 1957 to Clifford and Gennie Ludwin Mahl. Following high school Larry joined the Navy and honorably served his country. He worked as an electrician for a power company and also was employed at Pentecost Tours in Batesville. Larry was a Member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Batesville and was very active in the church.
Larry is survived by two brothers: Teddy Mahl and wife Vera of Blossvale, New York and Brian Mahl and wife Vickie of Manor, Pennsylvania; a nephew: Brian Mahl Jr. and wife Sierra of Pennsylvania; a niece: Stephanie Mahl of Pennsylvania; and many friends in the Batesville area. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lloyd Mahl.
Cremation was chosen and there will be no public services. Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. Am so very sad to learn of Larry s death. We were friends while I lived in Utica and kept in touch from time to time over the years. I recall many good times at St Joseph St Patrick parish and know he loved Divine Mercy. May he now rest in peace and pray for us. Jim Hartz

I will miss your welcoming smile, and that greeting you would always say, how are you kiddo? But most of all as we would go our own ways, it was pray for me--you pray for me along with that wink of your eye. So my friend keep smiling upon me, (being your height and me at 5'4 that is pretty much how it always was), keep praying for me and one day may I hear those words again HOW ARE YOU DOING KIDDO? By the Grace and Mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, my response is, I couldn't be better. May your soul rest in peace.

I am a fairly recent acquaintance of Larry's. He was a member of our newly formed Secular Franciscan Fraternity, Holy Family Fraternity, in Oldenburg. We recently traveled to Cincinnati for an anniversary celebration with our sponsor fraternity at St. Clement's Parish. I found Larry to be a very spiritual and devotional person. He was a regular volunteer here in my town, Brookville, for Works of Mercy and now New Mercies, serving meals to people in need. I was so shocked when I heard the news. Please accept my sympathies. I really liked Larry and know he has earned his reward in heaven. He will certainly be missed by the Lay Franciscans, and New Mercies. Peace to you my friend Larry.
