Lawrence was born on September 6, 1937, in Belle Plaine, the son of Samuel and Florence Roudabush. He graduated from Belle Plaine High School. On July 3, 1958, Lawrence married Sheryl Dietze in Belle Plaine; she died September 8, 2005. He was a draftsman for Link-Belt and then for Rockwell Collins where he developed lifelong friendships. Lawrence retired in 2007. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, and volunteered many hours at the church and school. Lawrence held a deep devotion to his Catholic faith.
Lawrence dedicated his entire life to his beloved wife, Sheryl, his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family. His greatest joy came from being surrounded by his loved ones, especially when cheering on his children and grandchildren at their sporting events. He will be remembered for his incredible generosity, having raised over $30,000 for St. Jude’s School. Lawrence leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and unwavering support that will be cherished by all who knew him.
The family extends a special thank you to Mercy Hospice for helping Lawrence in his final days.
Instead of flowers, a memorial may be directed to the family for a donation to St. Jude Catholic Church.
“God bless you.”

I worked with Lawrence at FMC and again at Rockwell. He was a sweet man who talked about his family often. May you be comforted knowing how much he loved you all.

Lawrence and I worked closely together at Rockwell. He was the kindest, sweetest man and I considered him a wonderful friend. He always talked about his family's activities and I know he loved each of you dearly. May God comfort you as you mourn his loss.
