LEKISHA DAWN CARTER, 43, of Bastian, VA, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 in Rocky Gap, VA.

She was born May 26, 1982 in Bluefield WV.

Lekisha loved the outdoors and made it her goal to spend as much time outside as possible. She loved to fish and go camping.  She enjoyed hiking. She loved to go hunting and boating with her son, Billy.

She enjoyed crafting and Harley Davidson motorcycles. She was a huge Brantley Gilbert fan.

She loved shopping trips with her daughter, Summer.

She loved her Jeep and taking Gypsy Rose for rides and walks through the creek. She especially loved the beach.

Many considered her wide open and had no problems getting her point across.  She faced everyone with a genuine kindness and generosity. She will be greatly missed by those who loved her.

Lekisha was preceded in death by her grandparents, Zelmer & Gladys Coburn and two special uncles, Robin Coburn and Edward Asbury.

Left to cherish her memory are her parents, David & Deborah Coeburn; her son,  Billy Carter & Karissa Martin and her daughter and best-friend, Summer Carter & Grayson Dillow; her brothers, Frank Farley, Jr. and Todd Eric Farley; a special niece, Izbella; special aunts and uncle, Caroline & Beau Lambert and Margaret Asbury; various cousins and her love of her life, her pet companion, “Gypsy Rose Carter.”

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 30, 2026 at 6:00 P.M. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, White Gate, with Pastor Cliff Bowman officiating. The family states that she would not have wanted anyone to wear black to her service. Per her wishes, she will be cremated after the service.

I love you mom, I’ll always remember the times we had. You were always there for me. You would give anyone the shirt off your back, and had the biggest most loving heart. I’m thankful for the times we spent together, we would go fishing, or hunting, you were always down to do anything as long as you were with me. Even through bad times you always found a way to crack a joke. I’ll never understand why god took you so early. I miss you always, love Boo Boo
