Lena DePinto

1935 - 2025

Lena DePinto, Beloved wife of 67 years to Nicholas and Mother to Gina (Robert) Galante and Lisa (Jamey) Kruczek. Loving Nonna to Justin Kruczek, Nicolette (Erik Porter), Grace and Mia Galante.

 

Beloved Daughter of the late Casey and Maria Moauro and Sister to the late Livia and the late Joseph Coglianese, the late John Moauro and the late Anthony & the late Violet Moauro. Sister-in-law to the late Michael and Rosemarie DePinto and Rochelle & Joseph Gelonese.

 

Lena adored her nieces and nephews Mary Ann, Anthony, Joseph Coglianese, John, Tony, the late Agnes, Casey, Maria and Bobby Moauro. Jessica DePinto, Joseph and the late Dominick Gelonese.

 

Lena was a lifelong creative with a passion for all forms of art, pouring her creativity into drawing, painting, sewing, and writing. She used her art to celebrate her family, often sketching portraits of her loved ones and creating garments for milestones such as weddings, baptisms, and communions. She loved writing poetry and singing along to songs from her favorite musicians. Lena was particularly proud of her Italian heritage and traditions she instilled that legacy into her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her gentle nature and her love for her family, especially her husband Nick.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Addolorata Villa and JourneyCare Hospice for their devoted service to providing our Mother a dignified and graceful passing, we will remain forever grateful to all of our caregivers especially, our cousin Gina Petruzzelli Reckard.

Visitation for Lena will be Wednesday, January 8, 2025 from 10:30AM to 11:30AM at Addolorata Villa  555 McHenry Wheeling, IL 60090.  Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:30AM.

Entombment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated in Memory of Lena to the Ronald McDonald House and Charities Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana.
