David M. Brophy

PARKTON - David Michael Brophy, 42, of Parkton, passed away Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. He was a past member of Frontier Volunteer Fire Company in Niagara Falls, N.Y., where he served for more than 15 years. During his service there, he served as lieutenant, safety officer and emergency medical technician and provided service during 9/11. Mr. Brophy was a current member of Parkton Fire Department since October 2013 and served his community with heart and soul. Left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Melissa Brophy; aunt, Judith Hatalak; and cousin, James Hatalak; many other aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his extended family of firemen. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. today, Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, at the National Guard Armory in Parkton. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at the National Guard Armory in Parkton, with Dr. Mark Holland officiating. The "Last Call" will be held at 1360 E. Green Springs Road, Parkton. Services entrusted to Reeves Funeral Home of Hope Mills.
