Levi Deron Randolph (Ronnie) was born to Spring and Levi Randolph on June 26, 1969, at Methodist hospital in Gary, Indiana. He left this world at his home in Memphis, Tennessee on Thursday March 12th and was discovered Saturday morning March 14, 2026. Levi was a treasure to his friends and family. He grew up in Gary, Indiana and graduated from Lew Wallace High School in 1988.
In 1988 he joined the United States Military where he studied Culinary Arts graduating and becoming a Food Service Specialist for the Army. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to Gary and became a police officer with the Gary Police Department He graduated from Indiana University Northwest class of 2002 as a Public Safety Officer. When his health started to decline, he moved to Memphis, Tennessee in 2018 where he resided until ascending to his heavenly home.
From childhood until he left this world Levi has been a giver to everyone he encountered. He was a phenomenal individual who put others before himself. He had many hard knocks in life but continued to have faith in his Creator through them all. He was proud to serve his country as a Desert Storm Military Veteran and a Police Officer. He was a retired veteran from the Quartermaster Regiment and acquired many military honors including: Three Medals: A Good Conduct Medal, South West Asia Medal and a National Defense Medal, 2 Army and Overseas Ribbons, 2 Expert Badges for the M-16 Rifle and Hand Grenade, and an Army Lapel Button. He had a saying that he would always say “if you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything,” and “I’m not someone you get to know, I’m someone you have to understand”.
Levi loved collecting cars, he had a mass collection that he would always talk about handing down to his grandson Maverick. He loved fishing, cooking, elderly people, kids, pets and plants and boy did he love shopping! As a kid he always had pets to take care of cats, dogs, birds, hamsters and fish every pet helped him deal with the hurts and pain he suffered as a child. Above all else he loved his children, grandchildren and any other child he encountered, he always had toys, candy, or money to give just to see them smiling and happy. He was a protector of his family and friends; though he suffered a lot God protected him throughout his life wherever he was. Cooking and bringing food to friends and family was something he did quite often as well as shopping and giving them gifts. He was an awesome Chef. No matter what the situation he was willing to help in any way he could. He was a mighty man of God and will be missed by all who loved him.
Levi was preceded in death by his parents, Mother; Spring (Robert) Dotson, Father; Levi Randolph, Maternal grandparents; Elie and Lula Holloway, Aunts; Dorothy Rayford and Euzelia Holloway; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
He is survived by his Daughter; Jessica Randolph, Adopted Daughter; A’sia Randolph, Grandson; Maverick Butler, Granddaughter; A’Mya Hunter, Sisters; Letanya and Marquita Randolph, Brothers: Christopher and Stephan (Rick) Randolph, Special Friend/Mother Figure from Tennessee/Ms. Faye Day and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Levi was a joy to have as a son, grandson, brother, nephew, uncle, father, grandfather, cousin and friend. He will be missed by everyone whose life he touched. He is now retired to heaven and at peace with numerous relatives and friends and his memory will be cherished by all who loved him.
