Linda Healey Obituary

Linda A. Healey, 71, of Bedford died on January 23, 2026, surrounded by her loving family following a courageous battle with cancer.

Linda was born in Arlington on April 19, 1954, and was the daughter of the late Arthur and Helen (Dalrymple) Petersen.

She was a graduate of Bedford High School Class of 1972 and continued her education at Middlesex Community College in Bedford.

She lived in Medford for many years where she attended Mass at St. Joseph’s Church with her children. She prided herself on sending her children Michelle and Michael to Catholic schools for their primary education at St. Joseph’s School and Arlington Catholic High School.

Returning to Bedford in 2014, she was employed at CVS. With the birth of her first grandchild, she gained her new favorite title as Nana. This made her decision to retire easy and she began caring for Soren and later Scarlette.  Soren and Scarlette affectionally called Linda “home Nana” a name she cherished.

Linda loved her trips to Las Vegas, becoming a regular with her daughter, Michelle at the showroom at the Southpoint hotel to attend the Elvis tribute shows of Donny Edwards. In Las Vegas Linda loved to take in all that the desert had to offer. Everything from the scenery of the desert landscape, to the sights and sound of the Strip with her family by her side the whole way.

Linda’s world revolved around her grandchildren. She loved taking walks with them daily to get munchkins at Dunkins followed by a trip to the park. Sometimes their walks would take them to Marshalls where her grandchildren would get a new outfit or toy for their good behavior, or as she would say “just because”.

Linda enjoyed going to Boston College hockey games with her son, Michael. Watching the Eagles take the ice was her favorite winter activity.

Most importantly, Linda will be remembered as a strong woman, devoting her entire life to her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Michelle and son, Michael and his wife Malinda, and their children Soren and Scarlette all of Bedford. She was predeceased by her brother, Peter Petersen in December of 2024.

Visitation will be held at Bedford Funeral Home, 167 Great Rd., Bedford, on Thursday, January 29 from 5-7.

Funeral services are private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Bedford Santa Community Program, P.O. Box 797, Bedford, MA 01730.
