Lisa Unzeitig Obituary
Lisa M. Unzeitig, 53 of Mankato, passed away peacefully at her home Friday, September 22, 2017.
Memorial service will be held at 12pm, Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Northview ~ North Mankato Mortuary with visitation starting at 10am. Please share a memory of Lisa with her family at www.mankatomortuary.com.
Lisa was born in Mankato to Carl and Kay (Robinson) Unzeitig on December 22, 1963. She attended Mankato West High School and later Rasmussen Business College. Previously, she had worked as a Direct Care Professional for Elm Homes and REM.
Her greatest joys were her sons, Matt Unzeitig and Samuel Hopp and her beloved German Sheppard, Bo. She enjoyed listening to music, a good cup of coffee with Carmel Macchiato creamer, chocolate, and red grapes.
Lisa was preceded in death by her mother, Kay; grandparents, Carl and Audrey Unzeitig and Kathryn Spenger; and her much loved Akita, Akai.
Lisa is survived by her sons, Matt and Samuel (Shailyn Petersen); grandchildren, Madelyn and Grayson; faithful dog, Bo; father, Carl Unzeitig; sisters, Terri Blank and Anna Ploog; brother, Mike Unzeitig; nephews, Brandon (Kayla) Blank, Ryan and Ben Ploog; nieces, Stephanie Blank (Orin Johnson), and Erika Blank (Cody Baum). She is also survived by the friends she considered family.

We met & became the best of friends in 1992 at Nordic Track...
When I won that brand new convertible, we we're inseparable! So many cruises, parades, & so much fun! I promoted you shortly after my promotion bcuz I needed strong leadership, a tender/caring/understanding gal just like you to work with the Reps! Even after the closing of facility, we remained in each other's s. I took you & Bo in to come live with me. That very special Xmas, when I found myself alone, you invited me to your family holiday in Nicollet. You gave the BEST hugs, the BEST support & I watched as your unconditional love for Matt & your grandbabies was absolutely priceless! You, my friend, will forever be in my mind, my soul as my sister. That's how much you meant & mean to me Lisa. I didn't know anything about this until Matt got in touch with me in February. It's probably for the best bcuz I will never say goodbye to you!
You are free now sweetie, I cherish our memories & I will see you soon!

My dear mama lisa, we have sooo many memories, an u were such an amazing support to me an the kiddos thru anything, even when time passed , you still checked in on me, you still made sure to tell me you loved us, when we seen each other I would always get a great big heart warming hug an a big ol smooch on the cheek from you, this doesn't seem real, but I know you are no longer suffering from your battles! God only takes the best away from us we will sure miss you tons, an your often on my mind! Thank you mama for all the talks an memories an fun times we had, I will be strength for the boys when they need an hug them when I can! Matt an sam, you guys are in my heart, thoughts an prayers during this difficult time!! Fly high mama Lisa we love you sooooo much!!!

Used to work with Lisa. One tme at work i said to her i need a new belt. She's like i got grampa's belt in my trunk. I still wear it.
