Lois Johnson Obituary

JOHNSON, Lois K. – Of Flint, age 91, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2026 at LaVigne Home for Compassionate Care.


Funeral service will be held 11am Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at Central Church of the Nazarene G-1261 West Bristol Road, Flint,


Pastor Jon Gildner officiating.


In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to LaVigne Home.


Visitation 1-7pm Tuesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Visitation 10am Wednesday at church until the time of the service.


Lois was born in Flint, Michigan on January 23, 1935, the daughter of the late Charles and Goldie (Decent) Clark. On April 7, 1956, she married Eugene Johnson, and he preceded her in death on June 15, 2017. She graduated from Mandeville High School and was a member of Central Church of the Nazarene. Lois was a volunteer for the Women’s Auxiliary at Hurley Hospital and served as President of the Auxiliary for many years. She traveled with Central Church of the Nazarene on mission trips. Lois enjoyed cooking, traveling, entertaining, thrift store shopping, the animals on her granddaughter Jennie’s farm and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 


Surviving are son, Dennis and wife Jeanine Johnson;


granddaughter, Jennie (Nick) Pollak;


great-grandchildren, Hailey, Brennan, Landon, Brooklyn, Josiah and Owen;


sister, Patsy Teague;


sisters-in-law, Reta Ballard and Norma;


and several nieces and nephews.


She was also preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Johnson, grandson, Joseph Johnson, great-granddaughter, Katelyn Pollak, daughter-in-law, Teri Johnson, brothers, RJ, Chuck, Dick and Herman, and sister, Betty Pearson.
