So very sorry for your loss. Love and prayers sent your way in the days and weeks ahead. What a beautiful gift of a mother you had. She was a lovely person. Always so kind. So soft spoken- she will be missed.

Sincerest Condolences to Lois and Jerry’s family and friends . I worked with Lois many many years ago at National Furniture in Evansville. She has always been one of the sweetest gals I have ever know.
I have been in contact a few times since, visiting once or twice in Henderson. Prayers to all of you as you mourn her passing, REST IN PEACE LOIS !

LOIS's Obituary

            Lois Jean McBride Swallows, 86, of Henderson, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, October 30, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

            Lois was born on March 31, 1939, in Henderson, Kentucky, to the late James William and Bertie Trent McBride.  She was a retired data processor with the Evansville-Vanderburgh School System.  After retirement, Lois babysat all of her grandchildren, attended all of their sporting events, and was their biggest cheerleader.  She also volunteered weekly at St. Vincent DePaul Society.

            She dedicated her life to her family and friends.  Her favorite pastime was preparing meals and making desserts for everyone.  Lois would give her last dollar to anyone, including strangers, thereby earning her the name G-Money by her grandchildren and friends.

            In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her aunt who raised her, Beatrice McBride; and her siblings, Harry Lee McBride, Ruth Marion Barron, James William McBride, Jr., Anna Louise Fife, Betty Sue McBride, and Jessie Carolyn McBride.

            Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Jerry; two daughters, Marion Lynn Swanson of Henderson, Kentucky, and Amy Berry and her fiancé, Jimmy Whitley, of DuQuoin, Illinois; one sister, June Cavanah of Henderson, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Tara Swanson, Olivia Austin and her husband, Landon, Emma Swanson, Dalton Berry and his wife, Nicole, and Austin Berry; and many nieces and nephews.

           Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home.

            Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at Fernwood Cemetery.  Father Larry McBride will officiate.

            Lois’s family wishes to thank the staff of St. Anthony’s Hospice for making her last days comfortable and well cared for, especially Danielle and Carli.

            Contributions may be made to St. Anthony’s Hospice or St. Vincent DePaul Society.

            Pallbearers will be Isaac Fife, Kelly Fife, David Berry, Austin Berry, Dalton Berry, and Mike Crooke.
