Lonnie Case Obituary

Lonnie Joe Case, 73, of Burkburnett, Texas passed away March 25, 2026.

Lonnie's ashes will be buried at his lake house next to Paula's in a private family service. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

Lonnie was born on April 26, 1952 to Ed and Ruth Bivens Case in Wichita Falls, Texas.  Lonnie married his high school sweetheart Paula Baker Case in 1972 and they spent many years together before her passing in 2020. He served with the National Guard. Lonnie had various jobs until 1983. At that time, he started working in the oilfield.  In 1986, Lonnie and Paula established Case Oil Company which Lonnie owned and operated until his passing.

Lonnie was an outdoorsman. He participated in enduros with his father-in-law and his brother-in-law. Lonnie enjoyed boating, fishing, and camping. He and Paula enjoyed their RV's, especially with friends, Delmar and Joy Luke and their family on various lakes. Lonnie loved traveling, especially the trips with his children and grandchildren. Also, the trips with their cousins and very close friends, LaDonna and Eddie Wilkinson. Lonnie loved motorcycles and lake life at his cabin on Possum Kingdom Lake. He loved a good bargain and he lived to tinker.

Family was very important to Lonnie. He was a real family man. 'Gramps' was well known for his stubborn demeanor and his very kind and soft heart. Lonnie enjoyed every minute with his grandkids and his great grandchildren. He taught them how to fish, to fix things, and in helping them find trouble.

After Paula's passing in 2020, Lonnie found a second chance at love with Ruby McDaniel.  The couple lived together for the past five years and Ruby devoted those wonderful years to his care.

Along with his wife, Paula and parents, Ed and Ruth Case; Lonnie was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Case; brother, Larry Case; and his son-in-law, Tim Catherall.

Lonnie is survived by his sister, Becky Case Swaim and husband, Greg; his three children Julie Case Carnahan and husband, Daniel, Mike Case and wife, Ashley, and Tara Case Shawn and her husband Greg; six grandchildren. Kori Catherall, Ryan Catherall, Jackson Case, Korbin Case, Sammi Jo Case, and Waylon Lowe; three great-grandchildren; and his loving companion, Ruby McDaniel and her children, Jessie and Jason Culipher and their family and Dawson and Jordan McDaniel and their family.
