Lougeina (Lou), or Doodie as she was affectionately called, was born on April 20, 1947 in Youngstown, Ohio to Elwood and Patricia Graham and was joined by her brother, Archie, nine years later. Doodie moved around a lot as a child as her dad was a proud iron worker. She attended many schools growing up graduating from Columbia Falls, MT.
Doodie married Ren Beyer on September 12, 1970. They spent their young married years in Spokane and then Renton, Washington. They welcomed their first daughter, Shana, in 1976 followed by Mandy three years later.
In 1980, Ren and Doodie jumped at the chance to be transferred to Butte, Montana. This is where they raised their daughters. Doodie was fortunate enough to stay home with her young girls. She was an active volunteer at Margaret Leary Elementary and in the 4-H club. She is fondly remembered as the 5th and 6th grade volleyball coach that everyone wanted because she would let inappropriate words slip out every now and then. Doodie also shared her love of horses with her daughters. There was no better day than horse show day! This love of horses originated when she was young and was crowned a rodeo princess while living in Halfway, Oregon.
Once her girls were old enough, Doodie rejoined the workforce. She worked as an office manager at Cobre Tire, Lisac Tire, and Les Schwab. The tire industry was perfect for Lou. She knew how to give it right back to the guys in the garage. They all knew who was boss, and the customers loved her. She would always inspect the tires on her families’ cars whether they wanted her to or not. In 2008, Ren and Doodie built their dream home in Whitehall, MT.
After retirement, Doodie enjoyed camping with her family where she would always burn the French bread in the camper oven. She loved riding her 4 wheeler, always with a grandkid hanging on for dear life on back. Lou loved having long lunches with her dear friends, adventuring with Debbie and Sharon, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Doodie’s grandchildren were her pride and joy. She always wanted to know what they were up to and made sure to always give them advice. It was very important to Doodie that she attended the wedding of her oldest granddaughter this past July. Doodie showed her strength and stubbornness to make it to Idaho despite the challenges she faced. It meant the world to Doodie and her family that she was there.
Over the past few years, Doodie preferred “buggy” rides into the mountains with Ren and frequent video chats with those she loved.
Doodie fought a courageous battle the past 7 months and finally found peace on September 19, 2025 with her husband and daughters by her side. We will miss her inappropriate figures of speech, her video chats, her advice on everything from tires to relationships, her friendship, and her love.
Doodie is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ren, her daughters, Shana (Trevon) Hostetler and Mandy (Dan) Logterman, and her grandchildren Sydnee (Colton), Casen, Brynn, Tymbre, and Karson. She is also survived by her 101 year old mother, Patricia Graham.
Doodie was preceded in death by her loving father, Elwood Graham, and her brother, Archie Graham.
The family would like to thank the staff of Deerlodge Medical Center for loving our mom and supporting us in every way they could. We would also like to thank those who stopped by for visits, the calls, and the many messages of love and support.
