Louisa Jemima Sassen

1928 - 2025

Louisa Sassen, affectionately known as “Oma” by her loved ones, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2025, at the age of 97.

Louisa was a humble, hardworking woman who approached life with grace, gratitude, and an enduring positive spirit. She found joy in the simple things—cooking for her family, tending to the garden, and surrounding herself with plants that she nurtured with love.

She is survived by her children, Verna Bueschen, Jill and Stan Thacker. She was preceded in death by her son, Erik Sassen.

Oma’s legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Alicia Bueschen; Maria and Kyle Brazell and their children, Kane and Skyler; Robert Bueschen; Phil and Amanda Bueschen and their children, Mackenzie and Paxton; Peter Bueschen Jr.; Dustan Thacker and Scott Bunch; and Rawlins and Corinne Thacker and their daughters, Kennedy and Alexis.

Louisa's quiet strength, warmth, and unwavering optimism touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but her family finds comfort in her enduring words: “Just keep on truckin’.”
