Louise's Obituary

Louise Elzy, lovingly known as Granny and GranGran, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025, at the age of 99, in Lexington, Kentucky. Born on July 3, 1926, Louise lived a long, full life marked by love, strength, and perseverance. She was the heart of her family - a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who cared deeply for those around her. She professed her life in Christ at an early age, and became a member of First Baptist Church Bracktown in Lexington, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her father, John Elzy; her mother, Virginia Elzy; and her brothers, Relford, Henry, and Robert. She is survived by her daughter, Ester Piersall, and her grandchildren Garnetta Peterson, Melissa Sanders, and Lawnte' Mayfield. She also leaves to cherish her memory her great-grandchildren DeRalle (Candice), Jasmine, Aricca, AJ (Azjalynne), DeAsia, Danielle, Tyler, and Tevin; and her great-great-grandchildren Diangelo, Amani, Dehvyn, Tre', Gemir, Asai, Gulius, Aya, and Acen. She is also lovingly remembered by her nieces Evelyn Sharp, Angela Long, Edna Sharp, and Christal Clark; her beloved Webb family; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family, and dear friends who will forever hold her close in their hearts. Louise was loved and well respected in her community. Her warmth, wisdom, and kindness touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her gentle humor, and the unconditional love she gave so freely.
