Lucy was like another mother to me during summer vacations. My Mom (Joyce Sarkilahti) was sister in law to Lucy. My favorite memory was being able to spend a full summer vacation. I grew up that summer My experience changed my understanding of life on a farm. I helped the best I could I remember peeling potato’s for the first time in my life. Using a paring knife I went at the potato and by the time I finished I had a nice rounded 2 in potato. Lucy was busy with the other things for supper , when she looked down and saw what I created. With loving softness she took the potato’s and assigned me a different task. she loved me as I did her. Lots of Love to Lucy annd the rest of the family.
