Ludwig A. "JR" Martone

1943 - 2026

Mechanicville, NY- Ludwig A Martone (JR) passed away Wednesday January 7th at Ellis Hospital.

Born June 18, 1943 in Troy, NY, he was the son of the late Louicka "Gus" and Esther E. Limberg Martone. JR served in the US Navy for 3 years and was honorably discharged. He worked as a meat cutter at the old Tancredi's Market in Mechanicville and then continued on with his trade at the Price Chopper Market for many years. JR especially enjoyed cooking for his friends, family and neighbors. He loved watching thoroughbred racing, boxing and football. He also enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino.  At home, you would usually find him grilling in the back yard or enjoying his front porch.

In addition to his parents, JR was predeceased by his sister Daria A. Martone and his wife Sue Ann Martone.

Survivors include his brother Lawrence Martone and his wife Elaine of Pelham NH, his dear companion Virginia Coleman and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A private service was held at JR's request. Burial was in the Saratoga National Cemetery.
