Luke Damerow Obituary

Luke Joseph Damerow, age 28 of Markesan, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 6, 2018, at UW Hospital in Madison surrounded by his family and loved ones.

Luke was born on June 15, 1989, in Neenah, WI. He was baptized on July 18, 1989. He graduated from Waupun High School in June 2010. Luke enjoyed listening to country music, watching Nascar, the Milwaukee Brewers and cheering for the Chicago Bears to get all the Packer fans riled up. He lit up a room with his contagious smile and spunky spirit.

Luke is survived by his parents, Paula O'Donnell (Edward Sullivan) of Markesan and Tim Damerow (Karen McCarty) of Waupun; siblings, Brianna (James) Gardner and Aaron Damerow; grandmothers, Hazel Whittaker and Joanne Laper; grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many special friends.

Visitation for Luke will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Friday, May 11, 2018, at Markesan Community Funeral Home, 868 North Margaret Street, Markesan and on Saturday, May 12, 2018, from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 65 West Catherine Street, Markesan.

A celebration of Luke's life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 12, 2018, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Jason Jobs officiating.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Markesan Resident Home for the wonderful care and the doctors and nursing staff at UW Hospital during his last days.

What a wonderful, young man. My life is better for having known him. I loved him like my own. My heart aches for not seeing him any more on this earth, but thinking of the joy and freedom he is experiencing, I would not wish him back, His days of suffering are over. But, I will miss you Luke!

I am so very sorry to hear about Lukes passing. I work at MRH and one has no idea the impact this has had on our community. Luke would often be tooling around saying hello to EVERYONE-staff, residents and even visitors. Come football season, it was on. The heckling and laughing grew. Luke always made us smile. He had a special bond with staff and residents and you would often hear him calling us "Trouble". No matter if someone was having a busy day, they always had time for Luke's bantor and heckling about any sport. While I was in high school, I had the opportunity to be a teacher's assistant. I was assigned to his class. That boy never gave up and always had fun, no matter what. Luke...the Bears still suck. ;) Rest in peace as there are no more troubled days or burden headed your way. Fly high and breathe easy...and if those Beara make it anywhere near the Super Bowl...I'll know you had a hand in it. God Bless.
