It is with great sadness & broken hearts that the families of Luke Stephen Young announce his sudden passing at his residence in St.Jude’s, NL. On Saturday, January 28th, 2023, at the age of 63 years,
In the loving words of his children…
“Dad always told us that we would be forever Young. Hence our last name. Our dad was the best father a son or daughter could ever ask for. He always knew how to put a smile on our faces. He was kind, caring, compassionate and funny. He was known for his great sense of humor. He taught us many things. He had a strong love for his children, grandchildren along with many other family members and friends. He had many interests such as fishing, rabbit hunting, picking berries and going to Tim Horton's for his daily coffee and he certainly loved the outdoors. And he loved to chat! Over the years he touched the lives of many people and every day we will remember the great man he was. “
Luke was predeceased by his parents, Robert & Margaret Young and his brother Bobby Young.
He leaves to mourn his daughters Megan Bennett and Cassie young, son Skyler young, (Olivia Chubbs) along with his Grandchildren, Brooke, Lilly, Seth, Parker, Farrah, McKenna and Krissy. Brothers Billy (Christine), Gus, Norbet (Sherry), Conrad (Karen), & Herman. Sisters; Rosemary, Ida (Scott) Elms, Maxine, Genevieve (Don) Langdon, & Annie. Several nieces, nephews, & extended family as well as many friends & buddies especially Randy Whalen, Ralph Shears, and Randy George.
The family will be receiving family and friends at Parsons Funeral Home, 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, NL, on Wednesday, February 1st, 2023, from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 pm. The funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place from on Thursday, February 2nd, 2023, at 11:00 am, with Father Anthony officiating with the burial to follow at the Roman Catholic section of the Deer Lake Interdenominational, Wight’s Road, Deer Lake, NL.
