Lydia Stettler, devoted wife, mother, friend, and colleague, passed away peacefully on December 29 th at the age of 70 after a long illness.
Born on August 7, 1955, in New Rochelle, NY, she later moved to Hainesburg, NJ at age 7, and lived in Belvidere, NJ and Mt. Bethel, PA as an adult. She was a 1973 graduate of North Warren Regional High School in Blairstown, NJ. Lydia was employed by Third Street Elementary School in Belvidere, NJ, for many years as a teacher’s aide, from which she retired.
Lydia was the daughter of the late Robert and Vera Palazzo. She was pre-deceased by the love of her life, Randy I. Lydia would like to be remembered as a passionate environmentalist and social activist. Alongside her late husband, she dedicated countless hours to fighting pollution and protecting the planet. She participated in numerous protests and letter-writing campaigns, always raising her voice for a cleaner, healthier world. Her advocacy inspired many and reflected her deep belief in leaving the earth better for future
generations. “Recycle, Renew, Reuse.”
Services are entrusted by the Gaffney Parsons Funeral Home and Cremation Services, "Village of Johnsonville," Bangor, PA. There will be a memorial set for Lydia at a later date.
The family is requesting that any donations be made in Lydia’s memory to The Sierra Club, Delaware Riverkeeper Network, or The American Cancer Society.

Took me awhile to gather myself to write .. what words can I use to describe or explain the most wonderful and caring person. I´m at a loss that she´s not in the world anymore, but we were all better for the short time she was here and loved us. I loved her dearly and hope she is at peace, that she deserves. Farewell my beautiful friend. Love you.
