It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Lynda Joyce Desmarais (nee Barton) at the age of 77. She was born in Windsor Ontario where she graduated from the Hotel-Dieu school of nursing, class of 1969. She began her career in Toronto working with Canada’s first heart transplant team. Returning to Windsor Lynda and Gary married (1971) and she worked in labour and delivery until returning to Toronto when she joined the Canadian Red Cross. Upon returning to Windsor in the mid-80s she was named Windsor Regional Nursing Manager of Canadian Blood Services. After 10 years there, Lynda and her husband moved to Austria for Gary’s three year assignment. Upon completion, they moved to Clarkston Mi where Lynda joined Miro / 21st Century Radiation Oncology Clinic.
Lynda loved life, she was the loving foundation of her family who adored her so dearly. She spent many years enjoying lakefront living, playing tennis, boating, waterskiing and extensive travel. She became a skilled artist and loved to paint with oils. She also had a great appreciation for nature, only surpassed by her continual love of dogs. She leaves behind her furry companion Stella. It would be hard to find a kinder, sweeter and more loving soul. She always put her family first.
