Maclean Maund Obituary
Maclean Peter “Mac” Maund, 18, of Harrison City, passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 25, 2020, in the Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville, as a result of injuries sustained in a vehicle accident. He was born August 24, 2001, in Pittsburgh, a son of Peter W. and Heather L. Hanchey Maund. Maclean was a 2019 graduate of the Penn Trafford High School and a standout pitcher/1st baseman for the high school baseball team. He was a freshman business administration major at Seton Hill University in Greensburg and was a member of the Universities Griffin baseball team. Maclean also was a long-time player for Team All American Baseball.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Peter W. Maund.
In addition to his parents Maclean is survived by his maternal grandparents, William and Judy Hanchey of Swissvale; his paternal grandparents William and Patricia Bunting of Cheswick; an uncle Lance Hanchey and wife Katie; aunts Heidi Chruscicki and partner Craig, and Heather McGarry and husband Dave; his cousins Carlin, Hunter, Carson, Kirsten, Allison, and Justin; and his beloved dog Layla.
Friends will be received 1 to 4 and 6 to 9pm Tuesday in the John V. Graziano Funeral Home Inc., 228 North 2nd St. Jeannette. A funeral service will take place 11:00am Wednesday in the St. Barbara’s Church in Harrison City. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church. A private interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Maclean’s name to CORE, Center for Organ Recovery & Education, 204 Sigma Dr., Pittsburgh PA. 15238, or to a charity of one's choice.

From elementary school through college, Maclean was always one of the most kind-hearted people. He never hesitated to stop and talk. A light in the classroom, Maclean is simply a person that is unforgettable. Though we weren't the closest of friends, the friendliness and warmth that he offered through the years of knowing him is irreplaceable. Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Maund, for raising a wonderful son. I am keeping the both of you and your extended family in my thoughts at this time, along with the beautiful memories that we shared.

Mr and Mrs Maund--Maclean pitched against us in the WPIAL Quarterfinal game in 2019. Not only was he an intense competitor, but its was apparent that he was a young man of exceptional character and integrity. Please accept the condolences of our baseball staff and players.

My name is Brandon Jossey. I coached Mac a few times with some hitting lessons at Seton Hill. This fall I came back and I almost didnt recognize him! He grew up so fast and time flew! Im so incredibly sorry for you loss. I just wanted to you to know Mac made a serious impression on me as a young coach. It was so refreshing to Coach a kid with so much passion and energy for the game! Ill forget his spirit! This has been a very emotional week. I would like to send my condolences to you.

Although I have never met Mac my son is a senior this year and also a pitcher and talked often of how special of a man Mac was both on and off the field.
