Malamati (Moutsioulis) Kitsis, 94, of Manchester, NH, died January 9, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loving family and those who loved and adored her most, after a period of declining health.
Born in Fourka, Greece on April 10, 1929, she was the daughter of Nikolaos and Agoru (Boulogiane) Moutsioulis. She resided in Greece, before immigrating to Manchester in 1976.
Devoted to her faith, she was a member of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church. She was a member of the Daughters of Fourka, the Philoptochos Ladies Society, and the Anagennesis Ladies Society.
Malamati reigned as the matriarch of a small Greek-American family and was the source of great wisdom, love, advice, and kindness. She was an extraordinary cook who was known for her incredible Greek cuisine. Malamati never let anyone leave her home hungry or cold. A truly loving and selfless person, she instinctively put her loved ones before herself. She was a patient and devoted wife, a remarkable mother and grandmother, and cherished friend. Malamati will always be loved and remembered for her servant heart as well as her endless dedication to her family. She is no longer suffering or in pain. Her spirit will remain in us, with us, and now she is at peace with God. She is flying high with her beloved son, Giorgios.
May Her Memory Be Eternal.
Family members include her beloved husband of sixty-four years, Ioannis Kitsis; two daughters, Dorothea (Kitsis) Gakis and her husband, Ilias, of Manchester and Christine Kitsis, and her fiancé, Craig Rousseau of Merrimack; a grandson, Christos Valandes Gakis and his wife, Megan, of Amherst; her brother, Kostas Moutsioulis and his wife, Nikki, of Manchester; a nephew, Nick Moutsioulis and his wife, Kelly, of Manchester; a brother-in-law, Ilias Kitsis and his wife, Koula, of Ioannina, Greece; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was predeceased by her son, Giorgios I. Kitsis in 2012; as well as her siblings, Kalifroni, Eutixia, Chrisanthi, Ifigenia, George, and Amalia.

I will always remember Thea Malamati as a dynamic and proud Greek woman.
Dorothea and Chrysanthe you were amazing caregivers. Her legacy and character is reflected in both of you. My last memories of her were at Christo and Meghan's wedding looking like a "kouklitsa" and of course the video of her smiling when Chrysanthe and Craig showed her the engagement ring on New Year's! As painful as it was for you both of you Dorothea and Chysanthe at the time, it was a blessing to be with her until the end. You, your dad, and your families are in my prayers.
