Malinda Southerland Obituary

Malinda Gail Seymour, 56, of Sapulpa, passed from this life and went to be with the Lord on November 14th, 2025, at her home, surrounded by family and friends.

Malinda was born on June 16th, 1969, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, to James and Jennie Seymour. She grew up with a rebellious spirit and a deep love for people. She graduated from Kiefer High School and attended Oklahoma State University.

Those who knew Malinda knew her as someone who brought light into every space she entered. She had a natural gift for making others feel special and will be fondly remembered for always making others laugh and smile. She was passionate about crafting and loved creating beauty out of simple things. She loved spending time with friends, sharing laughs, stories, and moments of kindness in a way only she could.

Malinda had a caring and compassionate heart. Whether she was helping a friend through a difficult moment or offering whatever she had to those she cared about. Her warmth made others feel seen, valued, and loved.

She is proceeded in death by her mother and father, Jennie and James Seymour, and her brothers Billy and Mark.

She is survived by her sons, James and Stephen Seymour, honorary son, Cody Vaughn, and her cherished grandchildren, Kennedy and Isabelle, who brought her immense pride and joy. She also leaves behind many relatives and friends whose lives are better because she was part of them.

A wake will be held at her home (11475 W. 171st S., Sapulpa, OK 74066) on November 17th from 6:00 pm - 8:00 am, followed by a funeral service on November 18th at Traditions Funeral home at 1:00 pm.
