Survivors include her daughter, Cathy (Jack) Miller, of Orange County, CA; her son, Charlie (Susan) Hite of Las Vegas; grandchildren: Abby (Rafal) Kuchta, Erica (Mike) Wadas, Brooke (Nick) Crawford, Dylan and Brandon Hite, and Danielle (Casey) Taravella; three great-granddaughters; one great-grandson; brothers: Donald Moody, and Larry Moody; sister-in-law, Judy Moody; and several other family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dave; brother, Keith Moody; and sisters-in-law: Karen Moody, and Shirley Moody.
Marcia was born on September 16, 1942, in Vinton, the daughter of Alfred Claire and Leone (Chittick) Moody. She graduated from Washington High School, Vinton, in 1960. On January 28, 1961, Marcia was united in marriage to Dave Hite in Vinton.
Marcia worked alongside Dave at the Wilson-Hite Insurance Agency from January 1973, when Dave purchased the Harry Rector share, until 1998, when Dave & Marcia both retired from Wilson-Hite. Marcia then went on to be a flight attendant for United Airlines until being furloughed after September 11th, 2001 and not returning to United due to Dave's failing health.
Marcia was involved in numerous community organizations, including the Vinton American Legion Auxiliary, Vinton Country Club, Red Hat Society, Wesley United Methodist Church as a Sunday school teacher, choir member and various board member positions. She was voted "Woman of the Year" by the Vinton Women's Club in 2013. Dave & Marcia were also Viking Booster Club members for many years. Marcia was always Dave's "behind the scenes helper" with all of the organizations Dave was a part of. She enjoyed anything outdoors, especially planting flowers, working in her flower beds, boating on the river, and being a member of the Cedar River "River Rats" where they spent every summer going up and down the Cedar River banks cleaning up any litter or debris. Marcia loved to help Dave entertain and they had many get-togethers at their home in town and, later, at their home "on the river". Their home was always open to all friends.
Marcia was always there to help and gave freely of herself. Her family could not be more proud of the way she lived her life and are so very grateful for all of the memories we treasure. So glad you are now with dad, your best friend! Rest peacefully mom, grandma, great-grandma and sister.
A memorial fund has been established.

Dave and Marcia were not only two of the nicest people you'd ever meet but they were consummate ambassadors and promoters for Vinton. I could write pages about their civic involvement, their parties, their generosity and their community support but suffice it say that they are missed by more people than you could count. Our community was a better place because of them.

I didn’t know Marcia until a few years ago. I knew her husband Dave and her brother Don closely. When I met her I could see all the qualities of both her husband and her brother Don. . After meeting Marcia I could see that they all had the same personal qualities. I am sure they will all miss her as I have missed them. Great fiends have great memories.
