Margaret Helen Krochmal

1930 - 2024

Margaret Helen (High) Krochmal, 94, of Manchester, NH, died February 1, 2024, after a brief illness.

Born in Manchester, NH on January 24, 1930, she was the daughter of John and Agnes (Cunningham) High. She was a lifelong resident of the Queen City. 

She graduated from Manchester High School Central. 

Until her retirement, Margaret devoted her time and talents working with Meals on Wheels for twenty-five years. 

Devoted to her faith, she was a communicant of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. 

Margaret loved life and her family dearly. Those who knew her were impressed by her sharp mind, sense of humor, and selfless ways.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose heart knew no boundaries.  She was fond of her many animals. She will be deeply missed and her memory held dear.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of fifty-six years, John J. Krochmal. He died January 22, 2012. She was also predeceased by a son, Daniel J. Krochmal. 

Family members include two daughters, Kathleen Krochmal of Manchester, NH, Margaret M.J. Palys and her husband, Daniel, of Chichester, NH; three sons, John S. Krochmal and his wife, Nancy, of Alstead, NH; Matthew J. Krochmal and his wife, Annette, of Bedford, NH, Vincent P. Krochmal and his wife, Tina, of Pembroke, NH; five grandchildren, Melissa, Margy, Matthew, Mariah, and Danny Joe; five great-grandchildren, Rowan, Ryer, Ezra, Moon, and Sammy; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. 

Services: There are no calling hours.

The funeral will be held Thursday, February 15, 2024, with a mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 10 AM in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 172 Belmont Street, Manchester, NH.
