Maria Sofia Catalina Carranza Lucio, 103
Maria Sofia Catalina Carranza Lucio, 103, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2022 at the Gables in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Maria was born April 26, 1919 in Hidalgo Tamaulipas, Mexico, the daughter of Eliguio Carranza and Bernabe Martinez.
Maria grew up in Tamolipas, Mexico, where she received her education.
On January 27 1940, Maria married Francisco Lucio in Linares N.L., Mexico. The family moved to Idaho in 1955.
She was a devoted member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses Church.
She had worked at TeePee Potato and Basic American Foods, but her most important job was being a mother and wife and Abuela.
Maria loved her flowers and garden, cooking, and reading her bible. She was a wonderful seamstress.
Maria is survived by her children, Aurora Lucio, Linda (Dana) Trautner and Ernesto Lucio; six grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Francisco; and daughter Lupe Lucio, a two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave. The family will meet with friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Riverside-Thomas Cemetery.
