Marie Abbott Obituary

Anna Marie Abbott of West Science Hill, Kentucky, departed this earth at Batesville, IN on Friday, February 28, 2014 at the age of 86.

She was born at Mt. Zion on November 10, 1927, the third child of Fred Oscar and Flossie Doreen (Hines) Dick. Marie married Chester Ray Abbott on July 4, 1959 and they celebrated their 50th anniversary shortly before his death in 2009.

Marie was a long-time member of West Science Hill Baptist Church and was active as secretary for many years. She graduated from Eubank High School. After graduation, she was employed at Palm Beach Somerset for 42 years where she received her very first Employee of the Month award.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ray; three brothers, Royal, Ellis, and Larry Dick, and one sister, Violet Brooks. She is survived by one brother, Hollis Dick of Hamilton, OH; and three sisters, Lena & (Donald) Wesley of West Chester, OH, Margaret & (Ralph) Hall of Lockland, OH, and Jean & (Billie) Baugh of Batesville, IN. Also surviving are numerous nephews and nieces. Being our oldest sister, she was admired and loved by all of her family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at West Science Hill Baptist Church with Bro. TJ Godbey officiating.

Burial will be in West Science Hill Cemetery.

Visitation for Anna Marie Abbott will be held after 6 PM Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
