Marie G Galette

Born Georgette Polynice on August 10, 1941, in Fond Parisien, Haiti, Georgette was called home on Saturday, April 29th, 2017 at John F. Kennedy Hospital in Edison, NJ.

She was the daughter of Anestoire and Telenie Polynice by whom she was predeceased. She was raised with her eleven siblings Dinand, Leonie, Azine, Luicile, Williane, Andrenie who predeceased her and is survived by her four brothers Labe, Nera, Jovais, and Molek Polynice and one sister Leante.

Georgette attended Lecole Rurale de Fond Parisien. She met her husband Jean Saul Galette in 1959 and their blessed union resulted in the birth of their beloved children Jean Talamas, Marie Evena, Saulus and Jean Fedner Galette. She and her husband emigrated to the United States in 1994 and resided in Spring Valley, New York until 1996, when they moved to Rhode Island. In 2013, the family moved to Sayreville New Jersey, where she could live closer to all her children.  It would become her final earthly residence.

She was a faithful woman, and earned a deaconess certificate from Centre Evangelique du Nazareen.   She was very loving, and a mother to all.  She loved to cook delicious meals and feed everyone who entered her home.

She is also survived by thirteen loving grandchildren Dexter, Sheina, Sean and Shiana Galette; Kervin, Lynly, Georjette, and Georjedine Jeanlouis; Valerie, Nicolas, and Jessica Galette; and Noah and Sastrina Galette.

Funeral services will be held at Haitian Jesus-Christ Baptist Church, 1127 Rivington Street, Roselle, NJ  07203 on May 6, 2017 at 9:00am with Pasteur Jean Donatien and Pasteur Jean Hilaire officiating. Burial will follow at Hollywood Cemetery in Union, NJ.   Arrangments are under the direction of the Lehrer-Gibilisco Funeral Home, 275 West Milton Avenue, Rahway, NJ  07065.  Visitation on Friday, May 5, 2017 from 5 - 9 pm at the funeral home.
