Mark Stubbs Atkinson, 65, of Wilkesboro, NC, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026, at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital.
He was born on July 9, 1960, in Lumberton, NC, to the late John Douglas Atkinson and Eugenia “Jean” Stubbs Atkinson.
Mark is survived by his brothers, Bayne Prevatte (Victoria) of Lumberton, NC, and Darrell Atkinson of Charlotte, NC; his sister, Peggy Atkinson Lawrence (Adam) of Lancaster, PA; his niece, Jenny Taylor of Youngsville, NC; and his nephews, Alex Prevatte (Erin) and John Prevatte (Christina), both of Lumberton, NC, and Tyler Lawrence of Lancaster, PA. He is also survived by many grandnieces, grandnephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Dell Prevatte Campbell, and his niece, Tara Atkinson.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 Floyd Memorial Cemetery, 154 Marion Stage Rd., in Fairmont, NC.

So very sorry about the passing of Mark. He had worked hard to make his life as good as it could be. He was an awesome cook and was loved by his sisters and brothers so very much. Now he is celebrating in heaven with his parents and Dell. Love to all the family.
