Marlene Ann Best, age 66, of Atchison, Kansas, passed away February 2, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born in Brea, California, on October 1, 1956, the daughter of Jack Everett and Beverly (Phillips) Everett. She grew up in Orange County, California, until her dad passed. She established her roots in the Midwest in the 1980s.
She married her soulmate Byron “Buzzy” Best in 1984. They later divorced but remained close for the rest of her life.
Marlene, who was known to so many as Wisky, lived a very colorful life. Her love for motorcycles was tremendous; you could say that she literally lived half of her life on two wheels. She travelled across the entire nation on the back of a motorcycle, she could even nap as she rode on the back. She loved her family and spent as much time as she could with her grandchildren. They would do all the fun things like paint their nails and do their hair, but as they hung out the TV was always on Blue Bloods or Law & Order. She was the kind of woman that you went to war with, not against
She will be remembered by so many, but especially her daughters, Tiffany Best (Scott Young) and their children: Alexandria, Mariah, Audrey, Mallory and Jenner; Jodi (Alex) Moore and their kids; her niece, Jacqueline (Nick) Cambra and her family; her mother, Beverly Everett; her soulmate, Buzzy Best; and the countless others that she claimed as her own and created so many memories with.
Her life will be celebrated on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Watkins presiding. Cremation care has been entrusted to the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the funeral home to assist with service arrangements.

Sending hugs and prayers for Tiffany and Buzzy as they grieve a great woman. I can hear her saying (to everyone!): “love you, Baby!” And she meant it. So thankful the pain and tears are all healed, now. I know you all had a lovely service and some sweet memories shared, with loving friends and family. Continued prayers.
