Martha Gladys Ferris

Martha Gladys Ferris, known lovingly as Gladys, passed away on March 2, 2026, at her home in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 80. Born on June 4, 1945, in El Salvador, Gladys lived a life defined by boundless love, unwavering devotion, and a generous spirit that touched all who knew her.

Gladys was the beloved matriarch of her family in every sense of the word. A loving daughter to Esther, sister to Armando and Victor. She is survived by her husband Bobby Sr., a devoted mother to her three sons, Bobby Jr., Gary, and Steven. She held family together with warmth, grace, and open arms and was an affectionate grandmother to Tania, Katrina, Liyah, Imani, Madelyn, Zuri, Julia, and a proud great-grandmother to Titan.

She possessed a heart of gold. Her love extended far beyond her own family, reaching anyone who needed comfort, encouragement, or simply a kind word. Gladys truly embraced everyone and saw the best in each person she met. During life's highest joys and deepest sorrows, you could always count on Gladys to be there, offering her steadfast support in any way she could.

Gladys cherished her deep companionship with Bobby Sr., and together they shared a passion for long road trips with their sons playing classic R&B and oldies to their weekend bingo outings in the company of dear friends. She also loved traveling on cruises to Mexico twice a year, a treasured ritual that brought her great joy and renewal.

A woman of deep and abiding Catholic faith, Gladys walked with God throughout her life, and she now rests peacefully in His eternal embrace.

Gladys and Bobby enjoyed singing their favorite song together, Always Together by The Dells – Verse 3, "When the years have turned your hair to silver and the days of our youth have left us so very far behind, golden, golden memories will keep in our minds, and we’ll always be together"

Funeral services will begin with a viewing on Friday, March 27, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Queen of Heaven Mortuary and Cemetery, 2161 Fullerton Rd, Rowland Heights, CA 91748. A funeral Catholic Mass, burial, and repass will follow on Saturday, March 28, beginning at 11:00 AM at the same location.
