She was a strong supporter of Lake Wales Literacy program and numerous other charitable organizations.

Fischer, Jr. M.D. (Kathy), Elizabeth L. Sutter (Lloyd), Martha Cordelia Fedele (Jerry), Carol V. Ferguson (Carroll), Cova C. Jacobs (Ralph), Eleanor F. Wetzel, Robert H. To all the many descendants of dear Martha Wetzel:
Our sincere sympathy to all of you in this time of remembrance of a gracious, lovely lady, who led a full and generous life. She was an inspiration to a multitude. She was a charter member of AAUW and one of our longest serving active members. How we shall miss her, but how blessed we are that she enriched our lives. May she rest in peace!

My condolences to all the family. Martha was a truly remarkable woman. There were several occasions when I would return from the mailbox with a heartfelt note written by Martha. Kevin enjoyed working that one summer at the lodge and would tell me stories and raved about the food. May God's peace be with you all at this time.
Love,

To the Family of Martha Wetzel
Mrs. Wetzel was a gracious lady. She was loved and respected by many. We enjoyed the Christmas card we received each year with a handwritten note. We were amazed that she continued to have such a beautiful handwriting through the years. May you find comfort in your memories.

I have so many wonderful memories of Hillcrest lodge with the Wetzels. Every year our family (Sardella's) would enjoy your wonderful home and hospitality. Our parents would play cards and the kids would all find some kind of fun in that big beautiful home. I remember the best lemon pound cake I've ever tasted. I believe my dad (who just passed in Dec.) had stayed in touch. Your mom was always so kind and always treated us like family. My heart goes out to all of you. Your mom was really special

I never had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Wetzel but, in my heart I feel I new her pretty good. My son Evan was her lawn boy for 10 years. Every week he would come home and talk about Mr. & Mrs. Wetzel and as he would speak about them his eyes would sparkle with joy. He loved them as they were his G-parents. Mrs. Wetzel and Evan shared the same b'day(9/10) so every year he would get a card with a little bonus check in it. She was loved by all that knew her including myself. I will sure miss hearing all the stories Evan would share with me. Sending Love and Prayers to the family

"Dearie" was very special to us and to our three children, whom she "adopted" as grandchildren; she sent them each a card on their birthdays with a little surprise inside every single year without fail! She was such a delight. We are honored to have known her and will never forget her. Love, Guy, Dayna, Mia, Macy & Anthony DiRienzo

To all the Fischers and Wetzels:
I was so sorry to hear about Martha's passing. I have so many memories of her from all the years we (the Lennons) spent at Hillcrest Lodge. I loved visiting with her at her house, listening to her stories and seeing all the pictures of all of you. She was such a proud mother and grandmother. She was an amazing woman who was loved by many. May God bless you and your family.
