I have known Mary Rogers for most of my life and she was a teacher to 3 of my kids at SCS. She was an amazing loving teacher and a genuine loving spirit. I remember on days when we would be walking past her house or see her out and about and she always had time to say HI. She will be forever missed and prayers and thoughts of sympathy to her family, her friends, and to all of us whose lives she has touched over the years. Heaven gained a true angel.

Mary was such a compassionate and loving soul. As a little first grader I can remember how much i admired her as my teacher. I’ll never forget the James and the Giant Peach party she hosted at her house and the one summer when we adventured to the theaters to go watch one of the Stuart Little movies. As I got older I always cherished her friendly and supportive conversations that always occurred as she wore the biggest smile and laugh. You will be missed Mary. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Mary was my first grade teacher, one I’ll never forget. It was so apparent that she loved teaching and also truly cared about her students. After first grade, I continued to look forward to seeing her in the halls throughout the rest of my elementary education at Sherman. Little did I know, we would be reunited years later while I was completing my student teaching requirements at SCS. Mary and I connected in a way I don’t think either of us expected. It was surely a God thing. I’ll never forget those days with her. She was an amazing friend and mentor. A true inspiration. I’ll always remember Mary as a strong woman with an amazing outlook, regardless of the hand she was dealt. She was a woman of faith. It comforts me to know she is in the arms of Jesus. Sending my deepest sympathy and condolences to her family whom I know she loved and cared for very much!
