Gretna……Mary Katherine Daniel Gibson, age 81 of Gretna passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at her residence.
Born July 5, 1944 she was a daughter of the late James Dallas “Dolly” Daniel and Mary Magdelene Daniel. She was predeceased by her husband, Garry Lee Gibson; one son, Ronnie Gibson; and 3 siblings. Mrs. Gibson attended Chatham Pentecostal Holiness Church and was a tobacco farmer for many years. She also worked at Capps Shoe and Dan River Mills. Mary enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.
She is survived by two sons, Wayne Gibson of Gretna and David Gibson of Gretna; two daughters, Patricia Rowland and husband, Kimball of Gretna and Bonnie Moore and husband, Ronnie of Chatham; 19 brothers and sisters, including a special brother, Russell Daniel; grandchildren, Jennifer Barbour, Daniel Doss, Ronnie Moore, Jr., Dustin Moore, Mary Moore and Cally Adkins; great-grandchildren, Hailee Walden, Cole Walden, D.J. Costa, Oakley Costa, Daniel Doss, Jr. and Lucas Moore; and great-great-grandchild, Nova Ann Younger.
Graveside services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Friday, January 9, 2026 at Carl O. Moran Memorial Park by Pastor Obdulio Berrios.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 8, 2026 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
The family would like to thank Mrs. Gibson’s special caregivers, Jennifer Barbour, Mary Moore and Cindy Sigler.
