Mary Lynn Petronzi, 67, of Seminole, Florida, passed away on January 26, 2026, leaving behind a family and circle of friends who adored her and a life marked by intelligence, humor, curiosity, and quiet devotion.
Born on April 9, 1958, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Mary Lynn was adopted and lovingly raised by Bernard and Theresa Petronzi, who gave her a strong foundation rooted in family, values, and resilience. She carried those gifts with her throughout her life.
Mary Lynn retired from McLaren Flint after many years of dedicated service, and she proudly fulfilled a long-held dream of retiring to Florida. Though her time there was regrettably short, she embraced it fully. She loved spending time at the beach, where she found peace, sunshine, and joy. Florida was not just a destination for Mary Lynn; it was a promise she kept to herself.
She was a devoted cat mom to her beloved Georgie, a constant companion who brought her comfort and companionship. Mary Lynn was an avid reader with a special love for historical fiction, a trivia master with an encyclopedic memory, and a passionate genealogist who delighted in uncovering family stories and connections. She traveled internationally, always curious about the world and eager to learn from it.
Mary Lynn was known—and gently feared—as the family’s grammar police. She had a sharp eye, a quicker wit, and a dry sense of humor that could land a perfectly timed comment with surgical precision. She was funny without trying to be, clever without being showy, and deeply observant. If you made her laugh, you knew you’d earned it.
She loved the Pittsburgh Steelers, thrifting for hidden gems, meaningful conversation, and—without apology—beautiful shoes and purses.
Above all, Mary Lynn loved people. She was deeply devoted not only to her family, but to her many beloved friends and extended family members who filled her life with connection, laughter, and shared history. She maintained friendships with care and intention, showing up with loyalty, honesty, and a listening ear. Her nephews were the lights of her life, and she took immense pride in watching them—and later their children—grow.
Mary Lynn is survived by her brother, Tony Petronzi, and sister-in-law, Jaymie Petronzi, of Flint, Michigan; her nephews Paul (Amanda) Petronzi of Flint, Michigan, and Anthony Petronzi of Romeoville, Illinois; her great-nephews Paul Petronzi, Jr. and Bernard “Chip” Petronzi; her great-nieces Giuliana Petronzi, Krysta Petronzi, and Olivia Petronzi; and her beloved cat, Georgie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Theresa Petronzi.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to Mary Lynn’s dear friends, Sheila Cavender Gorecki and Susan Bokor-Boilore, whose kindness, friendship, and steadfast presence brought Mary Lynn comfort and support during her most difficult months.
Mary Lynn lived thoughtfully, loved deeply, and left an indelible impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. She leaves behind a legacy of sharp humor, deep loyalty, and a life beautifully lived. She will be missed, remembered, and loved always.
