Mary Piklor
Mary Piklor, 98 of Sycamore, IL, died Tuesday October 1, 2019 at Lincolnshire Place Memory Care Center. She was born June 14, 1921 in Ursa, IL and was the daughter of Perry and Hazel (Jackson) Agard.
Mary graduated from Mendon Union High School in 1939. She married Gerald M. Simpson in 1941 and moved to the La Grange IL area where she raised her family. Mary was a homemaker and loved teaching kindergarten Sunday School. She also assisted her husband Jerry with his real estate office and business. After Jerry’s passing in 1970, she later married George Piklor in 1973. Together with George she always there to babysit her grandchildren when they had to stay home from school. Their greatest joy was their grandchildren.
Survivors include; son: Gerald (Jerry) B. Simpson; daughter-in-law: Janet M. Simpson; Grandchildren: Matthew J. Simpson (Melissa) and Kathryn L. Simpson; niece: Sharon Hemming; and, nephew: Jeffery Agard (Ellyn). She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Gerald M. Simpson and George Piklor; son Lance D. Simpson, sister Dell Agard and brother, Leo Agard.
Funeral service will be held on Sunday October 6, 2019, at 12:00pm in the Ursa Christian Church with Pastor John Simpson officiating. Burial will be immediately following at New Providence Cemetery in Ursa. Visitation will be one half hour before the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials to the Alzheimer’s Foundation. The family of Mary would like to thank the caring staff of the Sycamore Memory Care Center and Transitions Hospice for all the loving care they gave.
