Mary Tasho

CENTRAL FALLS

Mary Tasho, 95, formerly of Illinois Street, passed away Friday, July 17, 2015 at home in Florida. She was the wife of the late Yacoub Tasho.

Born in Turkey, she was the daughter of the late Boutros Boutros and Khatun Peters. She came to this country in 1973, settling in Central Falls.

Mrs. Tasho was employed as a Machine Operator for Hasbro Inc., for nine years.

She was a former member of St. Ephraims Syrian Orthodox Church.

She leaves her children, Janette Tasho of Florida, Marcelle Layous and her husband Hanna of Florida, Madelene Ghali and her husband Toni of North Providence, Sonya Layous wife of the late Elias of Pawtucket, Pierre Tasho and his wife Helen of Coventry, and Vera Layous and her husband George of Florida; her siblings, Victoria Doumato wife of the late Rev. Abdulahad Doumato of Cumberland, Sara Vartanian wife of the late Sarkis Vartanian of California and the late George Peters, husband of the late Alicia Peters; twelve grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be held Thursday at 9 AM from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. Funeral Mass to be held at 10 AM in the St. Ephraim Syrian Orthodox Church, 215 Washington Street, Central Falls. Burial will follow in the Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting Hours will be held Wednesday from 4 to 8 PM.
