Mary C. Vautrot

1924 - 2021

Mary Blanche Cusumano Vautrot, of Slidell, LA began her new journey with the Lord on September 18, 2021. She passed away peacefully, at home and in the Lords hands at the age of 97.

Married 46 years, she was the beloved wife of the late Edward Vautrot. She was born and raised in New Orleans by her late parents Phillip Cusumano and Vincenzina (Cena) Pecoraro Cusumano. She is preceded in death by her sister Fara C. Barinsfather. Survived by her loving cousins of the Cali family, Baldo and Carol Mannino, Sara Wegener and many more.

A special thank you to Linda Baker, Vanessa Patterson, Tony Walgomotte, and Dixie Foy for their loving care and friendship. A special thank you to the staff of Notre Dame Hospice for their care.

Mary attended Wilson Grammar School and Joseph Kohn High School. She worked for the Louisiana Health Dept. for 10 years and retired from Chevron after 35 years of service. She was a devout Catholic and awarded the Order of the St. Louis Medallion in 1993 by the Archdiocese of New Orleans. She was a member of the Kohn Alumnae, Elenian Club, Chevron Retirees Assn., and Fun for Lunch Bunch. Mary enjoyed church choir singing from the age of 13 and was a member of the Our Lady of Lourdes Church choir until 2018. Mary was a fun-loving person who enjoyed visiting with friends and having long conversations. She will be dearly missed by many.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 400 Westchester Pl. Slidell, LA. 70458 on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at 12:00 P.M.

Interment will follow in FOREST LAWN CEMETERY.

Visitation at the church on Thursday after 11:00 A.M. until funeral time.
