Dear Stacy,

I was deeply shocked and saddened to hear about Mat's sudden passing. Though I only had the chance to speak with him briefly at Linda and Tait's get-together, I was struck by his intelligence, and how easy he was to talk to. It’s hard to comprehend such a loss, and my heart goes out to you during this incredibly difficult time.

I can’t believe Matt is no longer with us. We had a chance to catch up after many years around last Christmas 2023 over chat. I’ll always remember our friendship and skateboarding your ramps that we’d pull over to the local schoolyard by your house in Toledo. I always wished I was as good as you on that rail bar. Matt, I will always remember hanging out riding bikes and having fun throughout the neighborhood growing up always had a kind loving soul. Prayers and condolences to all family and friends.

Matt started Hendricks a few months before me and we worked together for 10 years. He was always my Saturday work partner for as long as I can remember. Many great memories during and after work, I was always fond of his kindness and gentle tone. Even leaving the crew that I loved so much didn't keep me from seeking Matt out as I visited the dealership to say "Hello" and chat. Stacy and Noah, my memories of Matt span so many years and I fondly remember him as a young man with a special kind of energy and enthusiasm. He was such a joyful and kind man who didn't look at you but looked into you to make sure you were doing alright and offered the sweetest hug to ensure that.
