I'm heartbroken to learn that my friend Melissa has passed away. She was an incredible person and a cherished friend. We first connected when I cared for her mother during her hospital stay, and later, our paths crossed again as we both worked as social workers at Riverview. Melissa always had a kind word and that radiant smile. Even after her diagnosis, she remained optimistic and determined. She once told me, "Stephanie, I’ve commissioned you to be one of my prayer warriors." She wanted me to keep her in my prayers, insisting she wouldn’t go down without a fight.
The last time I saw her was on her birthday when I visited her home, bringing balloons and a card. I’m still in shock at the loss of my dear Scorpio/social work sister, Melissa. I will hold you forever in my heart and strive to live as you did—positively, unbothered, and grateful for each day. Until we meet again my dear friend!

Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. You will be greatly missed.
