In the 70's in Crawfordsville, Indiana I met Mike at the Captain's Table. He would have people over for Super Bowl to his apartment. I always liked Mike and thought he was an alright guy. I was shocked and saddened about his survival and loss of friends in the plane crash. I had lost contact with him by then, but it hurt my heart as does learning of his death. RIP Mike.

Mike and I graduated the same year from Darlington. I always liked Mike and saw a soft spot he carried in his heart. Life is hard for all of us but Mike had more than his share. He now has peace that passes all understanding and is resting in the arms of Jesus. Mike was an all American guy from a small town in Indiana. I am sorry for your lost.

So sorry for your loss, Mike was a wonderful person. I had not seen Mike since he was seven years old, but he was my cousin and goes without saying that I loved him. May he rest in peace with our LORD and SAVIOR.

So very sorry to hear about Mike's passing. When I started reading the book about his awful experience on Denali I couldn't put it down. I could just see him doing what he had to do to help the other's on that plane...could see the same face that sat in Study Hall with me in the library. Rest in Peace Mike.

I am very sorry to her about Mike. I have so many memories of Mike when we both were in school at Darlington. He was Ted's best friend. They spent so much time together camping along Sugar Creek and just being best friends. The happy thoughts of these wonderful memories, are so vivid in my mind and heart. What a reunion they are having!
May you rest in peace "Hawk".
PS. I loved the book. What a story!

Uncle Mike was so proud and supportive of all those who served and still serve. He always humbled me when we spoke by telling me how honored he was by mine and Maggie's service. You will be missed!
